Rara is a film production house based in Medellín, Colombia
Guided by a collective spirit that remains until today, in 2014 Rara Cine was born, a space for cinematographic creation whose goal is to make our friends and partner’s movies possible. In 10 years of existence, Rara has positioned itself as one of the most representative film producers in the city of Medellín, adding to the growth and diversification of the Colombian film industry. Our movies stand out for their thematic explorations, narratives and presenting new voices of the Colombian film industry, as well as the search for new models and strategies of production, promotion and distribution, joining our passion with the rigor of our roles.

“Parts of a Home” was his debut feature film as a director, and he is currently co-directing “Los impostores,” his second documentary feature.

Catalina Arroyave
Director, Screenwriter and Acting Coach
She wrote and directed “Days of the Whale,” her debut feature film. She has participated in casting and coaching actors for both national and international films. She is currently developing her second feature film, “Burning Kingdom.”
Camilo Escobar
Director, producer, and assistant director.
He directed the fiction short films “A Day in May” and “The Inheritance,” and has directed various episodes in documentary series for national and international television. He has also worked as an assistant director in feature films, commercials, and music videos.
Andrés Arias
Screenwriter, director, photographer, and cultural manager.
Film scriptwriting instructor. Programmer for film screenings and festivals. He directed the short film “Headless” and has participated as a still photographer in various fiction projects in Colombia.
Our goal of accompanying the creative process of our friends and partners has taken us to focus on the development, producing and co-producing of debut films and second movies. Our first feature film, The Days of the Whale, Catalina Arroyave’s debut film, premiered in 2019 in Colombian and U.S. theaters, after receiving 4 awards during its debut in more than 30 international movie festivals, including SXSW, FICCI, BAFICI, Zurich, Seminci, Huelva, La Habana, Mostra Sao Paulo, Melbourne, AFI, and Chicago Latino. In 2021, the movie received 6 nominations to the Macondo Awards from the Colombian Film Academy, including best script and best picture; that same year it was acquired by HBO for North America.
In 2023, the feature film Parts of a Home, David Correa Franco’s debut film, premiered in Colombian theaters after participating in festivals such as DOCSMX and the Colombian Film Festival in Buenos Aires.
